Portfolio Manager

Philippe P.J. Van Dooren

Philippe is Portfolio Manager of the MFP – Trend-Following Strategy Fund.

He brings over four decades of experience in financial markets to the table, covering banking, securities trading, and investment management. From 1981 to 1990, he worked at Bank Brussel Lambert (BBL), where he started as a junior employee and gradually grew into the role of branch director. Between 1990 and 1998, he ran an independent agency for the brokerage firm Cels Securities, initially focusing on Eurobond placements and, from 1994 onward, on US equities. As Mr. Herman Cels planned to retire, Philippe continued his role as an independent agent for Havaux & Fils from 1998 to 2002, based in Edegem, where he specialized in US stocks and technical analysis. Since 2002, Philippe has worked as an independent life insurance broker, specializing in unit-linked (Branch 23) investment products, with a strong focus on wealth accumulation, pension planning, and portfolio management. His experience at Havaux & Fils remains the most rewarding chapter of his career in the Belgian financial sector, and after the firm’s acquisition by Bank Delen in 2001, he decided to evolve his practice into a specialized office for savings and investment‑linked insurance products. This broad background has given him a practical understanding of investor needs and long‑term capital growth, which he now applies in managing the Trend‑Following Strategy Fund within the UCITS framework.
